Panthers Prevail Over Blazers

The Panthers slugged it out with the Blazers on Friday night.  A big factor in the win was ball control in the 2nd half where they were able to grind out yardage and chew up valuable clock time.  This kept the Blazer offense on the sidelines. They got the ball to open the third quarter and drove the length of the field - converting 2 4th downs on the way.  This consumed the first 7 minutes of the half.  And again at the end of game when Trail was trying to get the ball back and get one more score, TCN would not give up the pigskin. They held onto the ball for the last 5 minutes of the game. Choking any hope that Trail had of making a comeback.  Mason Dreischarf made a big 1st down for the Panthers - rambling 41 yards to the Trail 21 yard line with less than a minute left.

At times, North was their own worst enemy.  Untimely penalties stalled or stopped drives.  And special teams play had the team starting inside or on their own 20 a total of 9 times for the night.  That gave the offense a long field to work with for each drive.  Still they managed to come from behind and capture the win to spoil the Blazer homecoming: 24-21.

Scoring: Damien Reeder 28 yd pass from Brian Stinson; Cooper Cole 6yd pass from Stinson; Dylan Stinson 6yd run; Casy Whipp 46yd run.
