Ansonia Wins in Second Half Against Tri-Village
It was a close ball game going into the 2nd half as the Patriots made a determined bid to upset Ansonia. The Tigers were coming off of a 43-0 drubbing of South and may have been a bit overconfident coming into the game. But the Patriots played inspired football in the first half and fought their way to a 14 – 14 halftime tie against the 2nd place Tigers. They could smell an upset. But penalties and a strong second half for Ansonia doomed the Patriots who would only score once more in the game as Ansonia turned up the heat on a cold and rainy night for a 42-20 win.

Arcanum Sweeps Dixie
It was a good opening night for the CCC in the state tournament. They were 2 of 3 on the night. Miami East and Arcanum were winners, while Covington lost to Greenview. 4th seed Miami East defeated Madison in straight sets 25-6, 25-16, 25-12. Arcanum was the last team to play Tuesday night in Brookville for Division III. They used their
height on the front line to dominate Dixie. The 2nd line did a great job of setting and digging. Arcanum also won in straight
sets: 25-16, 25-17, 25-10. Arcanum plays again this Saturday at 11:30am in Brookville.
