CCC to Split?

Interesting read.  No idea that this was being contemplated.  So it comes as a surprise.  10 of the CCC schools are looking to leave the conference.  The main reason - it is rumored that football is a big part of it - dominance by a few teams that won most of the championships.  I think that if this is true then it is a mistake.  You should raise your program to level of your competition, not kick the competition out.  But the mindset must be if you can't beat 'em, leave 'em.

South Comeback Bid Falls Short

South had a rough time figuring out the Dunbar half court trap. Although South lead at the end of the first quarter, they fell behind at halftime 16-21. South was able to break the trap most possessions, Dunbar was able to generate enough turnovers to keep a lead. When South went to a zone defense from a man to man in the 3rd quarter, Dunbar began to hit shots from outside to open up a lead of up to 10 points. Also this was probably the worst quarter as far as Panther turnovers. But the Lady Panthers adjusted their defense and their offense gradually began to chew into the Dunbar lead. The game became heated as it entered the last minute. Point guard Madison Johnson was injured at this point and had to leave the court. It was a valiant effort but South ended up falling 44-42

Scoring for TVS: Lea Bennet 2; Taylor Clark 8; Taylor Bowers 11; Madison Johnson 11;MacKenzie Neal 10.

    Panthers Pummel Patriots

The Twin Valley South Panthers are ensconced at the top the CCC and there is a reason for that – multiple weapons on offense and a stout defense.  The visiting Patriots received a full draught of what the Panthers were capable of on Friday night.  Despite making some defensive changes, the Patriots could not stop the Panthers from scoring. On offense, they had a rough time maintaining consistent scoring themselves.  The Patriots would fall 73-35.

    Tri-Village Tramples Trail

The Tri-Village Patriots were firing on all 8 cylinders for their game against fellow CCC team National Trail.  Tri-Village could do nothing wrong and for visiting Trail - nothing went right. The Patriots dominated on both sides of the ball as their offense scored pretty much at will and the defense overwhelmed Trail for a lopsided 54-13 win.

The Patriots had 3 players in double figures, Emma Prinz 10, Meghan Downing 13, and Lissa Siler 15. Also scoring were Madison Foreman 2, Molly Scantland 3, Andi Bietry 3, and Maddie Downing 8.
