    Arcanum Blanks Bradford

Arcanum’s defense pitched a shut out in their defeat of Bradford.  And the offense was stellar as well with Daniel Coates leading the scoring with a total of 4 touchdowns on the night.  Finally, Arcanum also dominated in another less glamorous part of the game, special teams.  Bradford had a frustrating night in Arcanum as they could not get any of the 3 phases of the game working for them and would fall 30-0.

    South Over Stivers

Twin Valley South Boys soccer team improved to 4-2-1 on the year with a 3-0 win over Dayton Stivers. The game was called with around 25 minutes remaining in the second half. The panthers defense made it hard for Stivers offense to get anything going. Jacob Wells, Bryant Marker, and Aaron Clark scored the goals for the panthers.

The team will resume action with a game at Preble Shawnee next Monday.

    Trojans Claw Panthers

Would the Trojans have enough emotion left after an intense match against Greenville the previous day to turn around and re-enter league play the next day against the North Panthers? Greenville is a larger school, but still Arcanum was able to dial up the intensity against their county foes and get that win in 3 straight sets.  It was a little rocky at first, but the answer was yes as the Trojans were able to claw out a win in 3 sets against league foe North 25-20,  25-16,  25-15 on their home court.

Jets Zoom past Panthers 3 sets to 1

Franklin Monroe got off to a fast start against South.  Dominating the first two sets 25-17 and 25-12.  It looked as though they would make an early night of it and take an early bus ride home.  But the Jets relaxed in the 3rd set and let South race off to an early lead.  And despite several time outs to get things right the Jets had to slog their way back.  They did close in the end but fell 23-25 after making a gallant run at the end of the set.   The last set saw the Jets battle back and forth with South, but finally grind them down to win the set and match 25-19.
Come back for the complete story.

    TVS - Miami East tie

Miami East tied Twin Valley South 5-5 in Thursday nights contest. Miami East scored early and jumped out to a 3-0 lead. South could have just gave up and took the loss but the team responded with 5 goals to take a 5-3 lead. The game ended in a draw.

Coach Young had this to say, "As a coach I couldn't be more proud of my kids the way they fought and didn't get down on themselves after falling behind. They showed a lot of heart and character. We knew this would be a tough one heading into the game. It hurts to lose this one, because we had a two goal lead late in the second half but East is a great team and well coached."

He continued, "I think tonight showed that both teams are worthy of being top ten in the area. I also thought this was the best game I've ever seen Jacob Wells play. I don't often mention individual performances since soccer is a team sport, but I thought he had a player of the year type of game. He impacted the game in so many ways and makes his teammates better. I think there is a lot we can take away from the game tonight. We had a lot of positives and we had some negative plays too. It's early in the season still and it's promising to see how much we had advanced. I think my boys are a great unit. They work well together and our team chemistry has improved so much from last year to this year. This group of seniors are very special and they will be missed tremendously when they graduate. Once again I couldn't be more proud of our team and our school."

Stats: Hunter Bennett had a goal and an assist. Brayden Marker had a goal and Bryant Marker had an assist. The defense responded well after the first couple goals and played a great game. Jacob Denlinger had 24 saves. Jacob Wells had 3 goals and 2 assists.
