Twin Valley South beat Dixie 2-1 Saturday morning. Brayden Marker scored off a header from a throw in early in the second half assisted by Travis Lovely. Dixie tied the game off a throw in. Jacob Wells then hit a rocket upper 90 to put the Panthers ahead and become South's all time leading scorer passing Jacob Cottongim. His goal was assisted by Brayden Marker.
Coach Young:
"It was a good win today. It was really hot and it's always a tough game against Dixie. Their coach has them playing really good futbol right now. I thought we knocked the ball around well today and controlled possession very well today. We slightly altered our formation at half time to put a little more pressure on their defense and it ended up paying off. "
The Defense:
"Our defense played really well today. Jacob Denlinger came up with a couple key saves. Ian Kurtz played a great game at sweeper and made a huge hustle play late to preserve the lead. Chris Kenner, Jimmy Mullins, and Logan Cook keep making it tough on Dixie to get any solid attacks."
Looking Forward:
"We felt this was a must win game today. Our goal coming into the season was to be at least a 10 win team. Our last four games are against opponents who all rank in the top ten in the Miami Valley so it's not going to be easy. Our boys have started to possess the ball a lot better though. I think we have started to become more physical. I've seen a lot of positives coming out of our last two matches."
